Scratch City Court Clerk Thomas Long from the race for Memphis mayor. Long
is expected to announce Tuesday afternoon that he is endorsing Shelby
County Mayor A C Wharton in the Oct. 15 special election for Memphis
mayor. Long was among more than three dozen prospective
contenders who have pulled qualifying petitions from the Shelby County
Election Commission.
